Johannesburg - Gil Oved and Ran Neu-Ner, founders and owners of The Creative Counsel, were named overall winners of the Sanlam/Business Partners Entrepreneur of the Year award on Wednesday .

Competition spokesman Christo Botes said the judging process was extremely challenging this year, with judges having to select winners for the seven categories from 15 deserving finalists.

Bryan Anderson, co-owner and co-founder of Delta Steam Systems in Cape Town, was named small business entrepreneur of the year.

Nadir Khamissa and Ahmed Shaazim Khamissa, owners and founders of Johannesburg’s Hello Group, won the title for medium-sized businesses as well as innovator of the year.

The title emerging entrepreneur of the year went to Kim Whitaker, co-founder and co-owner of Once in Cape Town.

Job creator of the year went to Lewis Thomas, owner and founder of Partners Hair Design in Cape Town, and the judges’ prize went to Ncamisile Maphumulo, of Coastal Nephrology Centre in KwaZulu-Natal.
