Johannesburg - The Young Communist League of SA on Saturday said it was supporting a call to boycott Pick 'n Pay.
“We are disappointed that Pick 'n Pay has not heeded the call not to trade tomorrow [Sunday] in honour of the late president Nelson Mandela,” spokesman Khaya Xaba said in a statement.
“Pick 'n Pay is choosing profit over mourning this gallant hero of our liberation struggle.”
He said workers were not being allowed to pay their last respects to Mandela.
The YCLSA applauded the decision by Checkers, JD Group, Edcom, and other retailers who heeded a call not to open shops on Sunday. - Sapa
