San Francisco - Sheryl Sandberg joined the board of SurveyMonkey, the company her husband ran until his unexpected death in May.

Sandberg, the chief operating officer of Facebook, said she had watched her husband, David Goldberg, make decisions as chief executive officer of the online polling company for six years and hopes to “help to realise Dave’s vision of building a lasting company that will impact the way we all do business for years to come”, according to a statement released by SurveyMonkey.

Facebook’s former chief financial officer David Ebersman, who now heads health-care startup Lyra Health, also joined the board.

Zander Lurie, an executive at GoPro who has served as SurveyMonkey’s temporary executive chairman, was named permanent board chairman, the company said in the statement.
