THE STATE Owned Entities Communicators Association (Soeca) welcomed yesterday the appointment of Tshediso Matona as Eskom’s new chief executive. “We believe he has the experience and managerial capacity to lead the utility,” Soeca president Congress Mahlangu said. “Critically, he understands the policy posture of government, something essential for a position of this nature.” He said it was imperative that those involved in policy formulation be put in the “centre of the action”. Matona is the director-general at the Public Enterprises Department. Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown announced his appointment on Wednesday. – Sapa
