THE INTERMEDIATE merger between Grohe Luxembourg Four and Watertech had been unconditionally approved, the Competition Commission said yesterday. Grohe intended acquiring 51 percent of the issue share capital of Watertech, spokesman Mava Scott said. “Post-merger, Watertech will be controlled by Grohe and Distribution and Warehousing Network Limited.” Watertech would consist of companies based in South Africa, namely Apex Valves, Cobra Watertech, Isca, Libra Bathrooms, Vaal Sanitaryware and Expiro Manufacturing. They would be collectively known as the Watertech companies. The commission assessed the market and found the merger was unlikely to lead to a substantial prevention or lessening of competition. – Sapa
