Harmony Gold: Search finds lifeless body of miner

A miner at the Kusasalethu mine had been found dead yesterday, Harmony Gold said. “The employee was reported missing at Kusasalethu mine yesterday [Tuesday] afternoon,” the chief executive, Graham Briggs, said in a statement. “After not reporting to his section, a search was initiated which lasted throughout the night, but he was found only on Wednesday. Regrettably, rescue teams recovered the employee’s body in a worked out area during the early hours.” The cause of death was not yet known and investigations were under way. – Sapa
