The price of petrol would increase by 29c a litre from Wednesday, the Department of Energy said on Friday. The increase was due to changes in crude oil prices, the rand-dollar exchange rate and the prices of finished products, spokesman Johannes Mokobane said. He said the rand depreciated from R10.40 a dollar to R10.68 during the month. He said the 29c a litre increase was for 93 octane unleaded and lead replacement petrol. The price of 95 octane petrol would rise by 31c a litre. The diesel price would go up 14c a litre, illuminating paraffin by 31c a litre, and liquid petroleum gas by 58c a kilogram. – Sapa
