Pinnacle seeks cloud opportunities

Pinnacle Technology had identified new opportunities in cloud computing, Chris Smyth, the chief financial officer of the computer maker, said last week. “We’re not likely to build our own data centres. We have an interest in getting involved in other parts of the cloud,” he said. The firm reported after the close on Thursday that headline earnings a share leapt 49 percent to R1.75 for the year to June as revenue grew 18 percent to R5.8 billion. The dividend was hiked 52 percent to 35c a share. Pinnacle gained 1.4 percent to close at R18.50 on Friday. – Asha Speckman
