Johannesburg - There were no planned power outages early on Wednesday, as Eskom had enough generating capacity to meet demand.

“There is currently no planned load shedding. However, the power system is expected to be constrained during the evening peak period (between 5pm and 9pm), mainly due to increased electricity demand and generating units being out of service due to maintenance,” the power utility said in a statement.

Eskom pleaded with all its customers to continue “using electricity sparingly at all times to enable the technicians to carry out the requisite maintenance of our power generating units”.
