Johannesburg - South Africa's trade deficit narrowed to 8.48 billion rand ($694 million) in February from 24.22 billion rand in January, after a substantial rise in exports, data from the revenue agency showed on Tuesday.

Exports rose 14.6 percent to 76.85 billion rand, while imports fell 6.5 percent to 85.33 billion rand on a month-on-month basis, the South African Revenue Service said.
