Cape Town - Power utility Eskom announced on Tuesday that it would implement Stage 2 load shedding from 5pm.
“The power system was constrained but stable for most of the day today [Tuesday], thus enabling Eskom to perform maintenance without the need for load shedding,” Eskom said in a statement.
“However, due to increased electricity demand and a shortage of generation capacity due to power station units being on maintenance, Eskom will implement stage 2 load shedding from 5pm today [Tuesday] and is likely to continue until 10pm this evening.”
Eskom urged South Africans to use electricity responsibly especially with the cold weather conditions across the country.
