WOOLWORTHS yesterday announced senior management changes in Australia following the completion of its David Jones acquisition and the buyout of the minority interests in Country Road. Paul Zahra, the chief executive of David Jones, resigned with immediate effect, to be replaced by Iain Nairn. David Thomas has been appointed to the new role of chief operating officer at the store. Country Road is to be headed by Matt Keogh, a former managing director of Witchery. Woolworths chief executive Ian Moir said the senior team in Australia had a strong track record with the experience and capability to guide David Jones through the transition. – Nompumelelo Magwaza
