Cape Town – President Jacob Zuma has appointed Kuben Naidoo as deputy governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
Naidoo takes the place of Lesetja Kganyago who was promoted to head the institution last year, the presidency said on Friday.
Prior to the appointment, which takes effect from April 1, Naidoo served as an advisor to the governor of the Reserve Bank. He also remains a member of its Monetary Policy Committee.
“We wish the new deputy governor all the best in the execution of this critical responsibility in our country’s socio-economic dispensation,” Zuma said.
