If you work for a vehicle manufacturer and drive a company car that is valued at cost when your fringe benefits tax is calculated, be prepared for an increase in your tax. Treasury plans to force these employees to use the retail value of their vehicles to calculate the fringe benefit they enjoy. The change will, however, be phased in over four years.
