Berlin: Just about everyone hates queue-jumpers, which is why people who wait in line love the idea of being given a token or slip of paper which entitles them to service when it is their turn.

Queueing apps like InteliQ and Waitingsystem are taking that system a step further in Germany.

They let you leave a building while you are technically waiting in line, and ensure that you show up at an office again when the people ahead of you in line have been dealt with.

That frees you up to do something useful with the time you would have otherwise spent waiting.

Both apps work with both iOS and Android as well as standard web browsers.

How useful the services are depend upon how many service providers – from hairdressers and delis to doctors and mechanics – there are willing to make use of the service in your area.

They have to pay to use it. However, the service is always free for customers. – ANA
