GEARING up to host the biggest national multi-cultural wedding showcase in the world, engaged couples may get ready to be chauffeured VIP style to the GrandWest Casino where they might make some of the most important decisions for their special day.

Hot off the success of the New York and India Bridal Fashion Weeks, local designers are getting ready for the opportunity to showcase their talents at the SA Bridal Fashion Week to be held in the city this month.

The event, which will speak to audiences from all race and cultural groups will bring the best ideas and inspiration to brides planning their big day.

Organisers of the event say key features include a choreographed combination of themed designer catwalk shows covering exclusive new collections by local and international couture bridal designers and boutiques for brides, grooms, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls.

“We have developed fashion shows to put on a display like never before. Imagine cakes coming down the ramp, table décor displayed on models, makeup and hair options in a show, a spectacular shoe fashion show and many more. All are themed and inspired to leave the spectators in a magical world, with ideas galore.

Related staged showcases include lingerie, hair, makeup, hennah, jewellery, shoes, accessories, cakes, table center pieces, décor and flowers.” Launched in Durban in July, the event heads to GrandWest Casino from October 16 to 19, followed by Johannesburg ion November. “Between 10 to 15 shows will take place at each city, providing bridal couples and their entourage with unique shows and great prizes to be won. Attendees can be chauffeur driven in VIP style to and from the event by Uber.”

Attendees will get the opportunity to enter a competition and stand a chance to win R500 000 in prizes for wedding venue, honeymoon, wedding planning, video and photography.

“SA Bridal Fashion Week certainly has so much more than just fashion on display.”
