Man held for fatal city shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, Western Cape police said.

A 46-year-old man was shot multiple times in the upper body and head in Hangklip, Tafelsig, yesterday,

Captain Frederick van Wyk said.

He was declared dead on the scene.

A female bystander was shot in the back and the victim's friend was shot in the wrist. Both were taken to hospital.

“Sterling investigation work led to the arrest of a 29-year-old suspect later in the vicinity with a 9mm Norinco pistol in his possession, serial number filed off,” said Van Wyk.

The man would appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court soon.
