Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula urged fellow government departments on Monday to strive for clean audits and improved accountability of public funds.
“A clean audit is not child’s play. People work hard for this. A clean audit to us means other departments can (also) achieve it,” a jovial Mbalula said in Pretoria after being awarded a medal for his department’s clean 2014/15 audit outcome by the auditor-general’s office. He said several departments were closer to attaining clean audit outcomes.
“If Sports and Recreation, razzmatazz, can get it (the clean audit), all in government can make it,” said Mbalula.
