Good Morning, Mr Mandela

by Zelda la Grange (Penguin)

I’ve been waiting for this book to land on my desk for some time now, and finally it has.

Zelda la Grange was Nelson Mandela’s trusted assistant and one also expected to see this striking blonde woman at his side in public during his time as president.

La Grange grew up in South Africa as an Afrikaner who supported segregation.

This book tells of an amazing journey from those beginnings to how she came to spend her adult working life travelling with and caring for the man she came to call Khulu (grandfather).

I will be interviewing La Grange next month. Watch out for it on the books page.
