Durban -

The familiar sound of screeching tyres and smell of burning rubber will return to Durban as the third and final Top Gear Live Festival begins in June.

The motor-loving trio of Top Gear presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, will be back alongside the elusive racing driver, The Stig, and a number of acclaimed stunt drivers and FMX professionals who will put on what promises to be another top class show.

Last year the Top Gear Live team entertained spectators with The Stig, setting the track alight in the record-breaking RB7 Formula 1TM car; an England vs South Africa side-car polo tournament and finishing the set with a “car-bungy”, with radio and TV personality Sasha Martinengo in the drop seat.

Visitors also got to witness the world class driving skills of two-time Formula One World Champion Mika Häkkinen and Red Bull Junior Team member, António Félix da Costa, who took to the 2.8km street circuit outside the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

This year event organisers promise a combination of anarchic stunts and challenges that fans of the TV show have come to enjoy, as well as impressive street racing, grudge matches and daredevil attempts. The Top Gear Stunt Driving team will also put on displays of driving brilliance that promises to thrill fans.

There will also be a motoring exhibition displaying rare and expensive cars and the latest gadgets, luxury goods, car accessories and motoring technology on the market.

Visitors will also get an opportunity to test-drive vehicles, participate in interactive demonstration and join in exciting passenger rides at the off-track interactive festival, Motoring in Motion.

The Top Gear Live festival will be held on June 21 to 22 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Tickets are on sale at R260 for a basic ticket to R1 995 for a SuperSport Elite Village ticket.
