Oscar Pistorius’s ex-girlfriend is believed to have deleted a tweet insinuating the athlete was lying in the dock.

At about 10.40am on Tuesday, Samantha Taylor tweeted: “Last lies you get to tell… You better make it worth your while.”

This tweet came after Pistorius testified about how their relationship had ended, in which the Blade Runner said Taylor had confessed to cheating on him.

Pistorius also said Reeva Steenkamp believed Taylor was behind the social network media attacks, using false accounts.

About half an hour and 100 retweets later, Taylor’s tweet was gone from her account – but still circulated around the social media site through screen grabs.

While Taylor did not mention Pistorius by name, and there was no confirmation that she had deleted the tweet, speculation was rife on Twitter.

“#Pistorius ex girlfriend Samantha Taylor has now deleted the tweet in which she accused Oscar Pistorius of lying,” tweeted Siwaphiwe Mbara (@Siwa_Mbara).

“Not surprising Pistorius’s ex gf Samantha Taylor deleted her tweet re lying,” tweeted @fraggle73.

“Samantha Taylor is nothing but a jealous ex who couldn’t take being finished with. Nothing she says should be taken seriously,” said Lana Angel Nadal (@rafasgirlalways).

“Samantha Taylor deleted this tweet soon after posting,” tweeted Robyn Curnow (@RobynCurnowCNN), a journalist from CNN.

“Someone is lying. #Oscar-Pistorius or #samanthataylor?” tweeted Lorenzo Simoncelli (@lionreporter).

“Samantha Taylor tweets then deletes… #OscarTrial tisk tisk girl…” tweeted Kelly Matthee (@KellyMatthee)
