Rebel Wilson, famous for her role as Fat Amy in the smash hit comedy Pitch Perfect and its sequel Pitch Perfect 2, is back in town.
The Australian-born actress is filming scenes for an upcoming Sacha Baron Cohen movie, Grimsby.
The movie centres around the hijinks of a dim-witted British football hooligan, played by Cohen, and his spy brother who go on the run.
Wilson is reportedly concerned about the upcoming role, which she describes as her “most controversial yet” and features a scene in which she wears a burqa.
“Sacha has said I might need extra security when the movie comes out.
“Obviously, I don’t mean any offence to Muslims… it is a joke and no offence is meant,” Wilson told an Australian magazine in a recent interview.
The actress reportedly touched down in Cape Town earlier this week, surprising many gossip magazines that had assumed she was headed to Las Vegas to marry her boyfriend, Mickey Gooch, this weekend.
“According to the tabloids this week I’m getting married in Vegas… another quality week in Australian journalism,” the actress tweeted on Tuesday.
She also tweeted her discontent at having to wear a bra all day while filming.
“I really do put my health on the line for comedy! I had to wear the bra all day,” she wrote.
Earlier on Tuesday she posted that she was “shooting some additional material with Sacha Baron Cohen today and the only bra to wear from costume storage was all mouldy #thestruggle”.
Yesterday, she posted a picture of herself on set in the CBD, tweeting: “Whirlwind visit to Cape Town this week – additional filming for #GRIMSBY #lekker #sweats.”
It’s not her first visit to the city – she was in Cape Town last year when filming for the movie began.
Grimsby is set to be released next year.
