Musical Theatre Master Class:

Primary and high school teachers in Gauteng are invited to apply to attend a two-day musical theatre masterclass on May 3 and 4. Dalro sponsors this initiative to provide training to teachers whose role is to grow the passion of musical theatre in the youth. The class will be presented by Anton Luitingh and Duane Alexander in the studios of the UJ Arts Centre, Kingsway Campus, Auckland Park. National Music Competition

The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro) invites entries from music students 13 years and younger. The closing date is April 20. Auditions in all the main centres will start at the beginning of June. About 60 candidates will be selected to compete over four rounds at the Hugo Lambrechts Auditorium in Parow, Cape Town, from September 24 to 28. The four categories: piano, strings, woodwind, brass and other instruments (percussion, recorder, classical guitar and harp) with a sub-category for developmental groups.
