Is a Playboy party a place for a baby?

London - Hedonism, debauchery and barely-dressed women won’t so much as raise an eyebrow at the Playboy Mansion’s notorious parties.

But it seems there is one way to shock even the most hardened revellers – turning up with a three-month-old in tow.

Actor Kelsey Grammer has been criticised for taking his baby daughter to a Halloween party at Hugh Hefner’s Los Angeles home.

The 57-year-old Frasier star and his British wife Kayte, who is 25 years his junior, said they took Faith with them because they couldn’t find a “trusted babysitter” to take care of her.

But pictures of the baby in her car seat with drinks piling up next to her - carried first on the TMZ gossip website - have led to an outcry from parenting experts, fans – and even a Playboy Bunny Girl.

As Faith slept, partygoers sipped drinks around her and celebrity guests, including socialite Paris Hilton, danced to loud music.

Meanwhile, Mrs Grammer, who dressed up as a witch, happily posed for photos with her husband, who went as Count Dracula.

Former flight attendant Mrs Grammer also wore a bandage on her nose, apparently poking fun at stars who have plastic surgery.

Defending his decision to bring his daughter to Wednesday night’s party, Mr Grammer said: “Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted babysitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us.

“The baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight. We love our child. Kayte is my wife and lady love.”

However, others insisted the Playboy Mansion was an “unsuitable” environment for a child.

Judy Reith, who runs advice website Parenting People, said: “It is not wrong to take a young baby out with you if they are surrounded by responsible adults. After all, young babies are extremely portable and hardly know the difference between night and day.

“But with a crowd of adults drinking in the vicinity, it seems this was a very unsuitable place to take her.” One of Mr Hefner’s Bunny Girls, Melissa May, criticised the actor on Twitter, writing: “Why the **** does Kelsey Grammer have a newborn baby at the mansion party!?!?!?”

Many fans also took to Twitter to voice their disapproval, with Karen Riel writing: “God forbid Kelsey Grammer did something really crazy, like stayed at home with the baby. Fool.”

And Mr Grammer’s previous wife, Camille Donatacci – also a former Playboy model – was equally horrified, adding: “This cannot be true!”

In a dig at her ex-husband she even agreed with another commenter who suggested Mr Grammer should be treated by his former television alter-ego, psychiatrist Dr Frasier Crane.

Miss Donatacci was still married to Mr Grammer in 2009 when he met stewardess Kayte Walsh on a Virgin Atlantic flight from Los Angeles to London.

The pair embarked on a six-month affair before marrying in February last year, just 15 days after his divorce to Miss Donatacci was finalised.

Mr Grammer stands to lose up to £18-million in the divorce settlement. He has five children from four marriages, including two with Miss Donatacci.
