London - One in three parents are completely confused by their children’s homework.

More than half of mums and dads spend more than 40 hours a year trying to keep up with the latest school curriculum, research found.

Despite this, 36 percent feel unable to assist their children leading to feelings of embarrassment and anxiety.

The study of 2 000 parents revealed that one in five pretend to know the answer before going online to research the question.

The most difficult subjects are newer additions to the curriculum with traditional subjects considered easier by adults.

Only three percent of parents found coding and programming easy and only eight percent could say the same about computing.
