London - As plenty of parents know, getting a young child to sleep is not easy. So spare a thought for Maryann Battersby.

Her three-year-old son, Aaron, rarely slept through the night, but his mother has found the solution – half a banana at bedtime.

It was Vicki Dawson, a sleep expert at Aaron’s Yorkshire nursery, who hit on the solution.

When Battersby tried the banana, her son’s sleep issues disappeared.

Bananas are a source of magnesium and potassium, which help relax muscles.

They also contain tryptophan, an essential amino acid that converts to serotonin and melatonin, the brain’s key calming hormones. – Daily Mail
