This new series of Cake Decorating magazines will help you, in weekly editions, to complete a step-by-step course in the art of cake decorating.

With each issue you get a useful tool or gadget which you can use to create one of the projects in the magazine and in the end you will have a whole range of tools and developed the skills necessary to ice and decorate beautiful cakes, cupcakes and biscuits.

Some of the cool stuff to look forward to in future issues, including piping nozzles and bags, a full set of alphabet embossers, star cutters, a double-ended ball tool, heart-shape cutters and texture embossers and smoothers, as well as a vast array of stencils. You also get a set of binders to store your magazines plus a storage case for the tools and nozzles.

I recently undertook to make a wedding cake and used the butterfly and heart cutter to make beautiful decorations to apply to my cake.

I found all the instructions in the magazine easy to follow and I was thrilled with the finished product.

The only thing I found out was that it is not possible to buy ready made flour paste, so you have to make your own by kneading 5ml of CMC powder into 500g of plastic icing. If you don’t do this your decorations will not set. CMC is available at shops that sell cake icing supplies.

There are 120 magazines in the series. They are available at some of the bigger supermarkets and at most news agencies.

If you subscribe as I did, you get a whole lot of free gifts and the magazine is delivered to you directly.
