Cape Town - These are trying times.

Winter is coming, and we are in the grip of Eskom's euphemistically named loadshedding.

So, when the house is dark and the stove is cold, what to do in the kitchen?

The Star's Angela Day is working on a recipe feature that will help - and we'd like you to contribute.

Please use the comment form below to tell us your hints and tips for getting food on the table when there is a blackout (Eskom take not:e that is what is called when there is no electricity).

We'll collate them and share them to try to help everyone make best of a bad situation.
