Book: TIMELESS ONE-DISH WINNERS

Authors: Christelle Erasmus and Alana van den Berg

Publisher: Metz Press

Review: Debbie Reynolds

As its name implies, the recipes in this book are mostly family favourites and all presented in one dish.

It starts with the basics – recipes for stocks, sauces, salad dressings, various pastries and pestos.

Breakfast follows with some tasty suggestions including fruity crumpet towers and smoked salmon soufflé.

Next up are various quiches and tarts, pasta dishes and flaky pastry rolls.

Soups include options like Spanish meatball soup and a creamy fish soup.

Fish, mince and chicken recipes are wholesome, but not inspiring.

Mouth-watering pork dishes include slow-roast pork stew with orange flavour. The lamb and beef dishes are also tempting.

Desserts include everything from trifle to pear crumble and malva pudding. - The Mercury
