Johannesburg - VictoriaMilan, the dating site for married and attached people, says most cheats – 83 percent – contact their lovers on their cellphone.

This was the finding of the site’s survey of 12 500 men and women love rats from the US, the UK, Germany, France and Spain.

It found 5`1 percent of cheaters use apps such as Whats-App, Facebook or Twitter, followed by SMSes (15 percent), phone calls (13.6 percent), e-mail (9.8 percent), the mobile version of VictoriaMilan (8.6 percent), and voice messages (2 percent).

Most of the straying spouses surveyed used their own telephone number to reach their paramour but 15 percent made use of a “secret SIM card” to avoid being found out, the research showed.

And 74 percent used a phone linked to a contract, although it is riskier than using prepaid cards, given that their bill can provide a record of every number they have contacted via phone and text.

Chief executive and founder of VictoriaMilan Sigurd Vedal says: “Everyone is using mobile technology to reach people close to them.

“Just remember to immediately erase all text messages that you send to or receive from lovers! It helps you to avoid getting caught.”

VictoriaMilan is one of the world’s leading discreet social networks for men and women seeking a secret affair.

The service was launched by media executive Vedal, who is happily married, in 2010.

It has become one of the world’s fastest-growing and leading social networks for discreet extramarital affairs, with 4 million members worldwide in more than 33 countries. – Saturday Star
