David Beckham wants to coach children when he retires from professional soccer.

The 37-year-old star - who currently plays for Los Angeles Galaxy in the United States - believes working with youngsters would be far more rewarding for him than management, which is what he thinks many assume he will do.

He said: “People always ask me what I want to do when I've finished playing, and they say, 'Do I want to go into management?'

“To be honest I've never wanted to go into management. I love coaching kids, I love working with kids. They're amazing people. They're amazingly truthful, young people, and that's what I love doing.

David - who has four children, Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 9, Cruz, 7, and nine-month-old daughter Harper with his wife Victoria Beckham - also revealed he was particularly excited to recently take the Olympic torch from Greece to the UK ahead of the 2012 London Games.

He added to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “It was incredible. To bring the flame back from Athens into England was a huge honour for myself and I'm very proud of that.”

David is widely expected to take part in the Olympic Games as part of the Great Britain soccer team. - Bang Showbiz
