London - Her stunning figure is still the envy of women across the world, even as she approaches 50.
Yet supermodel Cindy Crawford claims she ‘sacrificed’ her body to have her two children.
‘My waist is thicker, my boobs have lost some of their perkiness, and I often have dark circles under my eyes,’ she insists in her new autobiography Becoming Cindy Crawford.
In the book, which is published next month ahead of her milestone birthday in February, she also reveals she doesn’t recognise herself in photo shoots because of the outfits and airbrushing. ‘Sometimes I forget the images I’m used to seeing of myself aren’t real,’ she reveals.
Crawford has a son, Presley, 16, and daughter Kaia, 14, with her husband, businessman Randy Gerber.
On how pregnancy changed her physique, she writes: ‘The idea of my body changing in so many ways, not knowing if it would ever go back, was terrifying.
‘I wanted a baby so much, I was willing to sacrifice my body, but I didn’t have to like it’.
In extracts in the Sunday Times Style magazine, she adds: ‘It took a full year before I lost all my baby weight. My body will never be the same again (but then neither will I).’
