Cape Town - Nissan SA has partnered with some of Mzansi’s finest influencers to spread help and hope to various charitable causes across the country.

Inspired by Brent Lindeque, the man behind the #RAK15 random acts of kindness movement, Nissan will boost the good deeds of some of South Africa’s biggest personalities with a fleet of Nissan commercial and passenger vehicles.

“We are heading into winter, a time when the needs of many of our fellow South Africans are most acute. We decided to jump in and turned to South Africans for inspiration. The result is #NissanMagic, a programme designed to inspire random acts of kindness (#RAK15) and one that will stretch uninterrupted until next year,” says Mike Whitfield, managing director of Nissan South Africa.

The programme was designed by Nissan as a partnership with various influencers to work towards supporting good causes. Equipped with a Nissan fit for the task, each chosen ambassador will have a month to make magic happen. Once the random acts of kindness are completed, the baton will pass to the next person to keep his/her ear to the ground, suggest a solution, get Nissan personnel and the public involved and share the #NissanMagic.

All influencers undertook to keep up the good work after their assigned month.

“If the atmosphere in our Rosslyn head office and manufacturing plant is anything to go by, then Nissan is set to make magic. Each of the chosen ambassadors is bristling with ideas of how to make a difference and get our personnel, dealers and fellow South Africans on board to help,” says Graeme Birch, general manager of marketing communications at Nissan South Africa.

To kick-start proceedings, Nissan invited Brent Lindeque to join forces with his friends, family and followers in June for the first month of #NissanMagic. Brent has chosen Onthandweni Family Care Centre in Soweto, and he will use the Nissan NV200 to collect and deliver blankets, clothing and other winter-beating donations during June.

“The success of the #RAK15 campaign is evidence of the true heart of South Africa. People want to help, but don’t always know where or how to start. I believe that Nissan’s #NissanMagic campaign will give us the opportunity to make magic happen,” says Brent.

People can connect with Brent online to follow his progress, offer to help or make suggestions for people and places that can benefit from the #NissanMagic. Nissan will use its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channels to further support the spread of goodwill.

Nissan’s year-long #NissanMagic campaign follows many similar campaigns over its more than 50 years in South Africa.

“In the past, we would lend a hand in times of need or crisis, but with #NissanMagic we want communities and not crises to dictate how we can help,” says Birch.

Several other well-known influencers have lined up to spread the #NissanMagic and each will use a different Nissan from the capable Nissan cross-overs to the tough Nissan NP300 and even the 100% electric Nissan LEAF.
