London - Discussing dying and making end-of-life plans remain taboo for many people across the UK, according to a poll.

Research by the Dying Matters Coalition, a group of care organisations, found that only a fifth of Britons have discussed their end-of-life wishes with somebody.

Four-fifths say they are uncomfortable discussing death, with only a third having written a will. More than half of the 2 000 people polled had not made their partner aware of their end-of-life wishes.

Claire Henry, chief executive of the DMC, said talking openly about dying “can help ensure we get our wishes met and make it easier for loved ones”. - Daily Mail
