Washington Post - It's the end of the runway for America's Next Top Model.

Variety reported that The CW series, created by Tyra Banks, would end after 12 seasons (that's 22 cycles, in 'ANTM'-speak). The series finale will air in the US on December 4.

The show pits would-be models against one another in a competition to find undiscovered talent. America's Next Top Model launched acting and modelling careers for the likes of Yaya DaCosta, Analeigh Tipton and CariDee English.

Banks tweeted the news recently with a reference to the show's famous “Tyra Mail,” which would alert co-habituating contestants of upcoming events and challenges:

“TYRA MAIL! Thinking #ANTM22 should be our last cycle. I truly believe it's time. May your pics be forever fierce. Keep on Smizing! Tyra”

The long-running show experimented with its format in recent years, allowing men to compete for the last three cycles of the show. Nyle DiMarco, a native of Frederick, Maryland, made history this season as the first deaf contestant.

Like any reality show worth its salt, “America's Next Top Model” was known for a consistent dose of drama and Vine-worthy moments like the time Tyra Banks dressed down a contestant she perceived as ungrateful.

Let's say it together: “I was rooting for you. We were all rooting for you!”
