London - If you match your make-up to your skin-tone, you’ve been doing it wrong - you should have been co-ordinating your cosmetics with your genetic make-up, according to a London beauty salon.

The Organic Pharmacy in Chelsea has become the first in the world to offer a 30-minute DNA test to predict which ingredients will work best with your genetic characteristics.

A saliva sample is taken and the test detects variations in a specific gene that regulates the effect of ingredients used to control the breakdown of collagen, a protein found in our skin.

Customers then receive recommendations for the most suitable anti-ageing ingredients for them.

The £295 consultation also examines “lifestyle factors”, including stress, smoking, sun damage, alcohol consumption and diet. - Daily Mail
