Cape Town - Top model Joëlle Kayembe is a force to be reckon with in the modelling industry.

Kayembe has recently been named the face of international brand Sissy Boy for their Winter 2015 campaign.

QUESTION: What is the best part of being the face of such an iconic brand?

ANSWER: It’s a point of pride to be noticed by such a well loved and iconic brand.

What are your favourite fashion items in the Sissy Boy winter range?

The Lacey biker jacket! I love to pair that with the super low rise Minusone skinny jeans – I’m obsessed with this look at the moment.

When did you realise that you wanted to become a professional model?

Traveling around the globe has always been one of my biggest dreams and also happens to be one of the biggest perks of being a model.

I’ve learnt the hard way that if you do not actively manage your reputation, others will do it for you in a way that will not be advantageous for you at all and this can damage future career success.

You always look perfectly polished. What diet and fitness regime do you follow?

My regime for staying in shape is to focus on exercise, eating right and more importantly – getting enough sleep.

Any advice for young girls with dreams of being a model?

My advice is if you’ve got the potential to become a model, don’t hesitate to give it a try! Nothing’s worse than regrets.

What is your ultimate go-to outfit in your cupboard?

Blue jeans with a white T-shirt. On a night out, the LBD has never failed me.

3 Things on your bucketlist?

* Climb Kilimanjaro

* Name a star

* Save a life

Exciting projects for the rest of 2015?

Bringing the Debate Mate program to South Africa on behalf of Trace Foundation.
