London - It was one of the most talked about aspects of Prince William and Kate’s wedding. Indeed, the sight of Pippa Middleton’s shapely bottom proved all too diverting for many commentators.

But one man has sought to puncture the legend of Pippa’s appearance at Westminster Abbey in April 2011 – by claiming she had a ‘false bottom’.

French etiquette expert Stephane Bern, 50, said on his TV show: ‘But of course she had a false bottom. I repeat it: she had a false bottom. You take her away from that and she has normal buttocks. It was an optical illusion.’

He added: ‘She knew there were a billion people watching. It was the moment to show it.’

Bern, a friend of royalty all over Europe, did not elaborate on his controversial claims – or say if he thought Pippa was wearing padded underwear beneath the white Alexander McQueen dress she wore as maid of honour at the wedding.

He made the comments on Monday as Waitrose magazine columnist Pippa, 30, visited Bordeaux’s world-famous Médoc vineyards.

She toured a series of country houses and their accompanying vineyards in the region, before dining with colleagues at a chateau the following night. ‘Pippa loves her wine, and it’s fantastic that she’s come to visit the place where the best in France is produced,’ said an industry source. -Daily Mail
