New York - They may appear just the ideas a woman is looking for to give her wardrobe a spruce-up.

However, fashion tips from Gwyneth Paltrow come with a price tag way too high for most pockets.

The actress’s favourite looks for spring and summer, as unveiled on her lifestyle website Goop, cost a a total of £301,556 (about R4,2-million).

Highlights of the annual “Spring Edit” on the stie include a £3,619 Valentino Rockstud python trapeze bag and a pair of £559 Alexander Wang leather shorts. Also featured are a £609 Charlotte Olympia Pandora perspex clutch and a £2,535 Bottega Veneta enamelled sterling silver bracelet.

Such expense is no problem for Paltrow, 40, who with Coldplay singer husband Chris Martin, 36, is said to be worth £75m.

Her new look appears on Goop by theme. To look like Paltrow in ‘Bright and Bold’ would cost £1,375 for the Boy by Band of Outsiders striped cotton-jersey jacket at £391, a £161 Diane von Furstenberg Noa knitted sweater, a Sophie Hulme envelope mini textured-leather shoulder bag costing £272, See by Chloé mid-rise wide-leg jeans at £213 and McQ Alexander McQueen patent-leather creepers at £338.

The ‘Everyday Punk’ look features an R13 glossed-leather biker jacket at £785, a £522 Valentino studded leather iPad case, £167 Rag and Bone Grand Prix leather-panelled twill leggings-style jeans and Gianvito Rossi metallic leather and PVC heels at £410.

For the ‘Pretty Pastels’ look you will need a £443 Lanvin draped silk-trimmed jersey T-shirt, Paul & Joe Kilanga polka dot-jacquard shorts at £174, a £1,180 Valentino Glam Lock studded PVC and leather shoulder bag and a £368 Jil Sander Nilde cotton-poplin shirt.

Among the more affordable themes is ‘Mini and Metallic’ which costs a mere £866, if you stick to just the £560 Victoria Beckham silk-organza panelled mikado dress and the £306 Maison Martin Margiela rose-tone four-finger ring with no extra accessories.

‘Maxi at Home’ will set you back £2,292, including £1,063 for a Temperley London satin and tulle maxi skirt, while ‘Shorts Dressed Up’ comes in at £2,103, including a £575 bright red pair of Jimmy Choo anouk patent-leather pumps.

If your mood is ‘Silk for Slouching’ you will have to pay £1,114 for a pair of Chloé printed silk-foulard tapered trousers. Adding to the bohemian look are £394 Ugg boot-style Isabel Marant perforated suede wedge ankle boots, a set of four £207 Lulu Frost bamboo and resin bangles and a £167 Philippe Audibert liberty rose gold-plated chain necklace.

The ‘Spring Edit’, now in its third year, is supposed to provide ‘inspiration for outfits for all aspects of your busy life, the website says. - Daily Mail
