Johannesburg - Day two of SA Fashion Week got off to a good start on Thursday night with the likes of Maps Maponyane and Luyanda “Lootlove” Shosha supporting the designers on show.

After the amazing fantasy world-themed showcase Gert-Johan Coetzee put up on Wednesday night, designers such as AfrikanSwiss, House of Alfalfa and Urban Zulu managed to keep up the standards with their designs.

The boys of AfrikanSwiss kicked off the show with a bang in their creative denim wear.

Their looks drew applause from the crowd, with the models complementing the fashions with beads and leather.

House of Alfalfa also pulled out some showstoppers with ethereal off-white dresses and jumpsuits juxtaposed with mustard-yellow stockings.

The Spring/Summer Collections were a hit with most of the fashion industry people who came to see the shows.

The Urban Zulu designs stayed true to their label name and showcased the best of their trendy traditional looks. Bright colours on leather and patterned material made their looks stand out from the crowd.

Craig Jacobs Fundudzi designs saw fine cuts on bright oranges and luminous yellow highlights and monochromatic prints on flowing fabrics.

Also showing last night was the much-anticipated Rubicon and Keys Fashion as well as Sies!Isabelle, Ilan and Michelle Ludek (all corr).

SA Fashion Week runs until Saturday, March 21.
