The organisers of the Gauteng Toy Run have included an off-road Toy Run this year to run in parallel with the road event on Sunday, November 30.

Dirt Bronco in Krugersdorp has mapped out and will marshal a 45km trail ride for off-road enthusiasts. Riders will be sent off in controlled groups at timed intervals from 10am, with bikes and quads separated for safety.

There will be food and trade stalls, demo displays, live bands and a beer tent at the venue - even Santa Claus will drop in courtesy of sponsor Netstar.

Gauteng Toy Run committee chairman Sean Fine said: "This is the 26th Toy Run but the first of what we hope will become an equally successful annual off-road event.

"The object is to promote a more favourable image of bikers in general and to collect toys for the less-privileged. We have collected and distributed more than 40 000 toys each year since 2005."

More than 50 000 motorcyclists are expected to turn out across the country on November 30 for a Toy Run that promises to be the largest yet - and as usual the only entry fee will be a child's toy for charity.

Dirt Broncos is on the corner of Main Reef and Lancaster roads in Krugersdorp. For more information go to the Toy Run website or call Pete on (083) 229-6621 or Sean on (083) 400-0214.
