London, England - Zara Phillips, 25-year-old daughter of Princess Anne and grand-daughter of Queen Elizabeth II, has broken protocol by posing for a Land Rover advertisement.
She appears in a mud-spattered white evening gown in a photograph taken by Mary McCartney, daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney.
The Mail on Sunday, a British newspaper which keeps particularly close tabs on the aristocracy, said in an editorial "it is hard to get stuffy" about Zara appearing in an advertisement - something the Briitsh Royal Family generally does not do and somebody in direct line for the British throne has never done.
Not surprising, as the advert appeared in that publication.
"She will get away with it because of who she is and because she has already shown that, if you break the rules with panache, your admirers will outnumber your critics," the Mail said.
