ABT has a potent surprise for those who can't wait for Audi to launch an RS 3.
The German tuner has just unleashed its magic on the latest S3, which produces 221kW and 380Nm in standard form (or 206kW in the case of SA models).
While the only engine modification ABT mentions is its bespoke engine control unit, the results are compelling to say the least, with the 2-litre turbopetrol's outputs rising to 272kW and 460Nm, putting it slightly ahead of the 265kW/450Nm Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG in the super-hatch power war.
Against the clock, ABT claims that its creation - which it dubs a "roadworthy racer" - will match the aforementioned AMG's 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.6 seconds, and reach a top speed of 265km/h.
For the visual parade, this S3 is fitted with ABT's own ER-C black double-spoke alloy wheels, which can be ordered with a diameter of 18-, 19- or 20-inches, and suitable high-speed rubber.
The subtle stylistic makeover is rounded off by fender inserts that lend a more powerful look.
