To whet our appetites ahead of its official reveal at the Geneva Motor Show in early March, Audi has released two official sketches of its new TT.

Though its design is unmistakably evolutionary, the third generation TT has been “systematically refined in every department, both inside and out.”

The new sports coupé retains its classical proportions but its face has an angrier expression thanks to the broad, flat grille that tapers inwards at the top corner and sharply sculpted headlights that flow into the car's 'tornado line'. What's more, the TT can be ordered with Audi's snazzy Matrix LED headlights.

In salute to the R8, Audi has also moved the four-ringed badge from the grille to the bottom edge of the bonnet.

Pronounced wheel arches will give the new TT a powerful pose on the road while a focus on horizontal lines at the rear emphasises the car's generous width.

Audi already revealed the new TT's interior at the CES show in Las Vegas back in January. Designed to resemble the wing of an aircraft, the dashboard eliminates the traditional MMI screen in favour of a 'virtual cockpit' digital display that fills the entire instrument cluster in front of the driver.

The new TT will be revealed in full on 3 March. Watch this space.
