No matter how fast a standard production model is, there's always going to be someone who wants it to be faster and more of a standout on the automotive cat strip.

And for those not satisfied with the latest BMW M5, well-known German tuner AC Schnitzer has just released the ACS5, which gets a whole glut of performance and styling modifications.

On the engine front, the M5's 4.4-litre Twin Power turbo V8 has been tuned up from 412kW and 680Nm to 456kW and 790Nm.

No acceleration figures have been given, but it should at least shave a few milliseconds off the standard M5's claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.4 seconds. AC Schintzer does, however, claim a top speed of 305km/h.

The tuner has also done a fair amount of aerodynamic styling work on the M5's exterior, including a 'Magic Blue' paint job, rear spoiler and various components, such as the front spoiler and rear diffuser, made from carbon.

The ACS5 perches on a set of in-house 21-inch Type VIII alloy wheels. A bespoke spring kit is also in place to enhance grip.

Finally, the soundtrack is sorted by a sports exhaust muffler with valve-activated sound volume control.
