Open up that chequebook and Ferrari will happily personalise your car for you through its Tailor Made programme, right down to commissioning your own personal designer from the Maranello Style Centre as was the case with this one-off 458 Italia.

In this instance, the owner wanted his car to pay tribute to 1970s Formula One legend Niki Lauda.

Inspired by the livery that featured on Lauda's Ferrari F1 car, this unique Ferrari 458 Italia features a red body and white roof with the Italian flag stretched across it, along with gold-painted wheels. Inside, the Italian flag theme continues on the centre tunnel and on the body-hugging seats.

No mechanical modifications were made to this 458 Italia, which is more than adequately endowed with its high-revving 4.5-litre V8 that thumps out 425kW and 540Nm, enough to shift it from 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.4 seconds.

Power is delivered to the back wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox and grip is aided by an electronic differential.

Fittingly, this one-off 458 Italia comes in the same year that saw the release of the movie 'Rush', which portrays the mid-seventies Formula One golden era and, more specifically, the fierce rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt.
