On 15 November Shell will release a new promotion in collaboration with Ferrari and Lego - a range of limited edition, buildable Ferrari models made from Lego bricks - and three miniature figurines - which will be available at participating service stations.

The six special Lego models are based on some of the most recognisable vehicles in Ferrari history, spanning five decades of road and racing cars - and a model of one of the transport trucks that are such an integral part of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One set-up.

THE CARS

F150 Italia- A Lego reproduction of the 2011 F1 car that includes the option to change the livery to that of either Felipe Massa or Fernando Alonso.

Scuderia Ferrari Truck- The Lego version of the cab has realistic detail on the lights, radiator and front grilles

250 GT SWB Berlinetta - Not only one of the most beautiful vehicles ever created, but also the first Ferrari road car to use disc brakes. Its distinctive round headlights are recreated in Lego bricks.

F40- One of the world's most recognisable performance cars, its classic aerodynamic form and distinctive square rear spoiler are recreated in in Lego bricks.

FXX- Lego's version of this high-performance, track-only Enzo derivative cones in black livery to emphasise the sleek styling of the FXX.

458 Italia- Arguably the most iconic model in the current Ferrari range, the Lego miniature reproduces its signature details from the multi-LED headlights to the triple tailpipes.

THE POWER

These are not display models; they're the smallest powered vehicles in the Danish toy company's history. Shell and Lego put 18 months' development into the pull-and-release mini-motor, capable of propelling a 30g miniature Ferrari a minimum of two metres.

Ferrari (and/or Lego) fans will be able to buy the six Lego models at Shell service stations across South Africa from 15 November - but the Minifigure pack will only be available at Shell Ultra Cities, giving it that extra bit of playground cred, irrespective of the ages of the children concerned.
