Paris - Honda has released more pictures and some information about its facelifted CR-V, which makes its debut at the Paris Motor Show later this week.

The European-spec CR-V, seen here, is built in Swindon in the UK and will be offered with a more powerful 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbodiesel engine, which pushes 118kW and 350Nm. In the name of efficient progress, the 'downsized' engine replaces the previous 110kW/350Nm 2.2-litre turbodiesel.

The other mechanical talking point is the option of a new nine-speed automatic gearbox, which also reduces emissions and improves economy.

Honda has given the CR-V a visual makeover at both ends, the front standing apart with a more muscular-looking grille along with new headlights, foglights, bumper and skidplate.

The facelift is finished off at the rear with new LED combination taillights and Honda has also redesigned the tailgate and bumper.

Honda has confirmed that the new CR-V will reach South African shores in January 2015 and that there won't be any major changes to the model mix.
