Hyundai is employing a marketing tactic so unusual that it would actually be illegal to use on TV.

The company has employed world famous hypnotiser Peter Powers to hypnotise participants in an online experiment intended to promote its new i30 hatchback.

According to the video promotion: "Professional hypnotist Peter Powers will let you experience a unique online hypnosis experiment. An experiment that would be extremely illegal to broadcast on TV. None of the participants in this trailer are actors and the hypnosis is 100% real."

Yet because the hypnosis is being attempted via an online video, Hyundai only expects it to work on a small number of cases. Participants are also required to read a whole bunch of terms and conditions before viewing the video.

Click on the links below if you're keen to try it out (the home page also has a British flag to click on to read the terms in English).

But please, don't try to blame or sue us if you find yourself head over heels in love with a Korean hatchback.
