Whitley, Coventry - Jaguar Land Rover has set up a new Special Operations division, to design and engineer bespoke high-performance and ultra-luxury cars, one-of-a-kind commissions, limited-edition collector editions and a new range of luxury branded goods.

Managing director John Edwards explained: "By creating a dedicated 'bespoke' division we can bring together the very best talent and expertise Jaguar Land Rover has, to deliver exceptional cars our customers will love."

FLEXIBLE WORKSHOPS

The new division will be housed in a purpose-built technical centre near the company headquarters, with a customer commissioning suite for bespoke services and premium vehicle personalisation, Formula One-inspired flexible workshops and a fully automated paint facility, offering an extended choice of colour and trim specifications and accessories.

The design and engineering team of 150 Jaguar Land Rover specialists will be led by Paul Newsome, recently recruited from Williams.

HERITAGE VEHICLES

There will also be a new Heritage Vehicles workshop at Browns Lane in Coventry, the spiritual home of Jaguar, where the six recently announced lightweight E-Type recreations will be built.

The newly-formed heritage team will also offer servicing and restoration of classic Jaguars, as well as producing and supplying hard-to-get parts.
